CACTUS HELPS ILLEGAL PETE'S CELEBRATE 15 YEARS
Imagine a client walks in the door and announces that he is going to throw a huge party to thank his employees and customers for 15 years of support. He doesn't want to make any money on the event and he isn't even looking to cover his costs. He just wants it to be an epic party.
That is exactly how the Illegal XV was born.
Pete and his team did the heavy lifting, lining up the emcee, the Lucha Libre wrestlers, the Rap Battle, the DJ Showdown, the food, the drink and the venue. All we had to do was tell people about it.
We started by designing and distributing a poster that captured the eclectic spirit of the event, drawing influences from concert and wrestling flyers. We then built a Facebook event page as the hub of the party, relying on the cult-like following of Illegal Pete's to help spread the word through the social sphere.
But we knew we needed something special to catch people's eye in the stores. So we made custom piņatas to hang at each of the 6 locations throughout the metro area, as well as a giant Illegal Pete's flag piņata for the event. We wanted it bigger, but something got lost in the translation. Every time we asked for a size, the guy at the piņata factory replied, "you mean 6 feet?" So, 6 feet it was.
