HOW WE INTERFACE WITH TECH IS CHANGING
The way we interact with technology is changing before our eyes. (Techie folks call this UI - User Interface) There has been a ton of chatter about the possibilities of Apple's new voice activated AI assistant Siri, and how it might change the game, especially if they integrate it into a large form factor apple TV. But this isn't another look how smart Apple is post.
Nope.
It is actually a look at those Microsoft dudes post.
Microsoft rolled out their own UI game changer about a year ago called Kinect. They introduced it as an Xbox gaming controller, but since then the hacker community has built some pretty incredible things with it. Check out this new video form Xbox to see what I mean->
So why does this matter to agencies and our clients?
Because Siri and Kinect both effectively bridge the online and real worlds- toss in QR and his much smarter and better looking sibling AR (augmented reality), and you get a glimpse of a completely new ecosystem for marketers to operate in.
This video from National Geographic and UPC is a great example of AR at work->
After all, Marketing is simply the right message to the right person at the right time. These advances allow us to finally get to that "right time"- not just when our target audience picks up something, turns something on, opens something or logs on to something.
Tomorrow is coming quick. Are you ready?
